If you thought the amusement park in Zombieland was apocalypse-ready, then you haven't seen anything yet. Welcome to Six Flags New Orleans.Lying in the waste from a post-Katrina ravage, this Six Flags has been completely abandoned and deemed too expensive to repair. The park is located in Eastern New Orleans, in the Ninth Ward of the city off Interstate 510. The park first opened under the name “Jazzland,” opening in 2000 and operated by Alfa Smartparks before Six Flags took over the park lease in 2002. Apparently, there have been attempts to sell the property, but to not avail as there isn't enough money to restore nor destroy the facility. This Six Flags exists in a state of perpetual tattered limbo.
This video and following photographs were taken in 2010, five years after Katrina tore into New Orleans.
